FAQ

When should I start shopping for my wedding dress?

Ideally, 8 to 12 months before the big day. This gives you plenty of time to find your dream look, wait for it to be made and have it altered. Don'y worry if you have less time, we work closely with the designers and can have a rush order put in, usually at a small fee.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. We operate on an appointment basis.only This is so that our brides can have our undivided attention. There will be no other customers interrupting the appointment and you get 2 full hours to try on the gowns or separates of your choosing.

How long will my appointment last?

Bridal appointments will last for up to 2 hours. You can always book to come back for a shorter appointment if you want to try on something again. Veil and accessories appointments last up to 1 hour.

Sample sizes

Like most bridal shops, we only have one example of each piece meaning it is unlikely to fit you perfectly. However, we make sure that we demonstrate how the gown may look once it has been made to your measurements. It may require a little bit of imagination but we are here to support you with this. Please don't be worried if a sample gown is not your size, we are here to make you feel your very best!

Will I need alterations?

Depending upon the designer you order with. Some designers we carry will make your gown to match the measurement we will send them. Others will make your gown to a dress size closest to the measurement we send them. Therefore, your outfit may need a small amount of alterations to make it fit perfectly!

Once your outfit has arrived at Rare Bridal Studio, after ordering, you will be invited back in to try it on again. Here we will be able to determine if it will need any minor alterations. We do not do any in-house alterations so if this is the case, I can put you in contact with a local seamstress who can assist you with this.

How many people can come with me?

At Rare Bridal Studio, we aim to give brides a relaxing and exclusive 1:1 experience. Our studio is not huge and we would like to save some space for our lovely bride to move in so we limit guests to two per bride.

What underwear should I wear?

Wear something that fits you well. Maybe something skin coloured or seamless so that the fabrics can lay flat over the top.
